Where do cats originate from?

Not where you might think.

Cats are all from Andromeda. My species is also a kind of cat, usually resembling the common house cat.

A few million years ago, my species developed space travel. We wanted to test it out, so we sent an inferior species of cat (kind of like chimpanzees compared to humans) to earth.

The spaceship broke down when we got there, and we were just to lazy to go back and retreive the cats.
