I know Nikolai will like this, but basically, I've been toying with the idea of turning my next book pro-MRA.
Financially, this probably isn't a good decision. I picked at a feminazi in my last book, and when realizing my reader-base was primarily women, I regretted that decision.
But when I say pro-MRA, I don't mean every page will be soaked with the result of oppression towards men, but I mean adding a character who would fit in as an MRA, or developing a preexisting character to the status of MRA.
SPOILERS!
I would say it's obvious Alan has reason for being an MRA after nearly being raped by a woman and his wife cheating on him, but what if I did a turn around and called Kit an MRA?
It would make sense canonically.
-She preferred to hang out with the men and never accused them of treating her unfairly
-She tried saving her boss from a possible feminist riot
-She respected Paul's deviant sexuality and his right to express it
Look at me, searching for excuses to make my own characters into advocates X)
But yeah, I'm all for Honey Badger Kitty, and I've already given up my hope of being traditionally published anyways. Tell me what you would think of seeing a character in a novel supporting men's rights.
Do whatever you feel is right mate I think it'd be cool to have an MRA themed book. Going against the grain is always good. Grain=bad lol.
